100% Pinot Noir, 200 cases produced from the Makjavich vineyard in the AVA Santa Cruz Mountains. Grapes are 100% destemmed, and fermented on skins for two days. Aged in neutral oak for 9.5 months. Native fermentation, no fining, no filtration, no other modifications or additions except 20 ppm of sulfur dioxide the week before bottling. Larry Makjavich planted these vines around 2011 and farmed them with friends for eight or so years, making the wine in his basement. Megan noticed the potential of this vineyard immediately when she stumbled upon it, and from January 2019, she has been co-farming this vineyard with Larry, purchasing all of the fruit since then. Ever on the quest for something ‘marginal,’ Megan is always striving to make very light bodied Pinot Noir. She enjoys blurring the line between rosé and red wine in order to bring out the qualities of Pinot Noir that she finds to be most delicate and appealing. The result is a bright and electric wine with notes of strawberries and bramble.
